Fisher: “Jackson is Our RB”

- Mentioned this in the “Wrapping Up” blog but wanted to bump it out on its own because of all the questions coming in on RB Steven Jackson and the trade rumors swirling around him.

- At his news conference today, Rams Coach Jeff Fisher addressed the rumors without provocation. Here’s what he had to say:

“The (RB) Steven Jackson rumors are rumors,” Fisher said. “He’s our running back. We’re not calling around nor are we getting calls, for that matter. So, I’ll put that to rest.”

- The trade deadline, originally scheduled for today, was pushed to Thursday because of Hurricane Sandy and its effect on the East Coast teams and NFL offices.

- Fisher was asked after Sunday’s game against New England whether Jackson was being “phased out” of the offense, a notion Fisher also shot down quickly.
