Rams Working to Recover

Posted by nickwagoner on December 12, 2012 – 11:30 PM

- After yet another brutal, physical contest last week in Buffalo, the Rams are slowly but surely working many of their key guys back into practice slowly this week. So on Wednesday they had a lengthier injury report than normal even though many of those ailments aren’t expected to be serious or even the type of injuries that will keep anyone from playing on Sunday.

- Still, it was a bit strange to go through a practice without so many key pieces available.

- Wednesday’s injury report looked like this:

Did Not Participate: CB Cortland Finnegan (ankle), S Craig Dahl (concussion), RB Steven Jackson (foot), LB James Laurinaitis (back), TE Mike McNeill (thigh), C Scott Wells (knee).
Limited Participation: WR Danny Amendola (foot)
Full Participation: LB Mario Haggan (elbow)

- Now, it’s important to keep in mind that Jackson and Wells have followed similar procedures in recent weeks. Jackson has rested on Wednesday’s and progressively done more to lead into Sunday. Wells is in a similar boat though he’s done less in practice later in the week than Jackson. Both should be fine and be ready again on Sunday.

- Finnegan and Laurinaitis are new additions this week but it’s likely that they are following a similar path as Jackson and Wells. Neither suffered any serious injuries that coach Jeff Fisher has discussed and it’s expected that they’ll be OK.

- Dahl is going through the concussion protocol and will have to complete those tests before being cleared.

- McNeill did not play last week with the thigh injury so his status might be the most up in the air of the non-participants.

- As for Amendola, he again did some individual work but has yet to work in 7 on 7 or 11 on 11. He said he’d like to not have to be a gametime decision this week and that he’d like to practice more before the week is up. We’ll see where he is tomorrow and, more important, Friday.

- Haggan made it through the game OK and should be ready to go again this week.

- Of note on the roster, the Rams made a quick change on the practice squad, releasing DE Mason Brodine and adding WR Raymond Radway to the mix. Radway played collegiately at Abilene Christian, just like RB Daryl Richardson.

- On Minnesota’s injury report, there were some notable names all participating in various degress.

- CB Antoine Winfield (knee) and CB A.J. Jefferson (concussion) did not participate.

- RB Adrian Peterson (abdomen) was among those who practiced on a limite basis. T Phil Loadholt (knee) and TE Kyle Rudolph (shoulder) were also limited.

- That’s it for today. Thanks for reading.
